Kinzaa provides users with a professional visual resume builder. The user can create infographics that showcase their skills and work history. The application includes fields for common information, such as current occupation, location details, a description or biography, URL and work history. Users can also enter specific skills and choose their aptitude using a simple slider bar which provides levels between average and expert. The user can upload a video clip if they wish to do so. Kinzaa includes unique personality sliders that feature a number of unique career-related details. The user can choose their culture type (wild or conservative), desired company size, the importance of job security, how quickly they make decisions and more. Work environment and skill characteristic sliders allow the user to add even more detail to their Kinzaa resume.

Kinzaa appeared in 2010 to provide internet users with a better way to design and share their resumes. The application’s goal was to help professionals accurately display their talents, strengths and work experiences in a way that took little time to design. The current version features a wide range of details that give the user many ways to reveal their skills, work history and their individuality on their infographic resume.

Kinzaa is not as flavorful as other visual resume builders; however it offers a number of ways to create a unique virtual resume. The application utilizes a clean, simple interface that favors neat sliders that allow the user to set a level between two extremes for most options. The slider system is very easy to understand and allows the user to quickly choose settings and generate a new infographic resume. The experience is fast, somewhat entertaining and completely headache-free.

To create a Kinzaa infographic resume, a new user can click the light orange “Get Started” button along the left hand side of the homepage. The registration form asks for the user’s first and last name, a Kinzaa nickname (which will be the resume URL), email address and a password. The user must also check the small box under the terms of use (to the right of the form) before continuing. The user is automatically logged into their account and can begin filling out additional information. A note highlighted at the top of the user dashboard advises the user that they must check their email for an activation message to complete registration.

Kinzaa invites all professionals to build an infographic resume for free. There are no subscription fees or other charges required for creating an account and building a resume at this time. The application is still in beta, so it is possible that a subscription fee may be added later. This is not mentioned on the website (and could reduce the appeal of the application should a fee be added after official release).

Many other visual resume creators work in dramatic color schemes with bright hues and cutting edge visualizations. Kinzaa takes a more relaxed approach with professional designs that keep the resume nicely contained, making it a great fit for anyone looking for a resume that doesn’t overload employers with wild personality.
